Sydney has been whipped into a fashion frenzy this week as designers showcase their Summer 2012/2013 collections at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
The exciting outlook for our wardrobes is lots of bright neon colours, tuxedo style ladies suits & prints galore. The peplum dress seems to be sticking around for another season too – although anyone who reads trashy mags could have foreseen that as Kate Middleton seems to love this look and what she wears is what is hot at the moment!
Ruby Slippers was lucky enough to sit runway side and watch the We Are Handsome show. Their sexy, photo print swimming costumes looked just gorgeous and made me want to go home and throw away every piece of swim wear I own.
The shows continue until the end of the week, but the great news is the fashion doors open for everyone next week as Fashion Weekend starts in Sydney. There are LOADS of stands bursting with clothes, shoes, and accessories all at discounted prices. There is also a catwalk show, Beauty Hub and most importantly a bar….after a hectic day’s shopping you’ll need this!

The night will include a catwalk show with emerging designers showcasing their work, gorgeous models and prizes galore with a raffle including a Ruby Slippers Personal shopping voucher!!

They come in more colours than Katy Perry’s hair and with styles to suit everyone, surely it’s easy to find the right pair…isn’t it….mmm maybe not!
Finding the right pair of jeans can be difficult, but follow Ruby Slippers simple guide to finding the perfect pair and you’ll be smiling all the way to the checkout….
The most important thing is getting a fit that suits your shape:
HOURGLASS figures stick to bootcut, straight cut and crop straight.
For those on the PETITE side go with skinnys, straight cut or boyfriend (avoid the super baggy ones).
For you girls with a BOYISH frame go bootcut to create some curves or boyfriend.
Those lucky ladies with LONG LEGS you can really wear any style but your best looks are high waisted, skinny or boyfriend.
And for the FULLER FIGURE try Bootcut, straight, or cropped straight.
You also need to consider the RISE (where the jeans will fit on your hip/waist):
Low rise – avoid unless you’re petite or have long legs. Avoid at all costs if you’re battling with a muffin top!
Mid rise – Perfect if you if you want a little coverage over your tummy. They should come just under your belly button.
High rise – Great for those with curves, wearing in a dark colour can hide trouble spots. Avoid them if you’re on the petite side though.
Most importantly make sure they are comfortable!! If they are gaping or digging in they are not the right pair! Don’t get them too loose fitting though the denim will stretch – buy them snug!!!
